The trailer was equipped with its original horizontal 13.5 gallon tank
This is a shot of the tank taken in the trailers found state
This is the tank after sandblasting. The entire tank including the valve, overflow points pressure regulator and id tag were all painted silver. Which leads me to believe that this was not original. I found traces of red paint under the silver, this is what I am considering re-painting the tank. Notice the brass id tag on the front it reads: "Santa Fe Engineering and Equipment Co., Maywood California. Dated 1946. SN 6864. The workmanship in this tank is very impressive. It looks to be all hand welded.
Here is the finished tank with new valve. 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of finish paint.
